Commissioned components made by casting, injection or compression moulding, rubber moulding and powder consolidation, including investment, sand, shell, permanent-mould and pressure die casting, press-and-sinter production, metal injection moulding and powder extrusion. Includes foundry core making, insert moulding, overmoulding, encapsulation and potting when these are the requested processing work, and sizing or coining within sintered-part production. Cast parts made using printed moulds or cores remain casting outcomes. Separate machining of castings or sintered blanks belongs to Machining; sheet thermoforming and stock extrusion belong to Cutting & forming; commissioned production moulds and patterns belong to Tool, mould, die & fixture making.
