Redesigned an anonymous customer’s machined part for powder-metal manufacture while preserving its function and improving dimensional stability. The historical case describes a 54% price reduction for that component.
Developed tooling and prototypes to replace an anonymous actuator customer’s zinc die casting with a sintered component that fitted the existing assembly. Production followed testing; the historical case describes improved strength and lower cost.
Worked with a tier-one supplier serving an unnamed truck manufacturer. Warm compaction, high-temperature sintering and carbonitriding supported four-level components. Customer field tests led to carbonitrided Distaloy HP selection. The truck maker is the end-user brand, not an established direct customer.
Supplied ten trial components to an anonymous maritime customer, then 200 units in the first year and later 2000. The case describes 86% lower unit cost after moving to sintered parts. Historical volumes and savings are specific to that engagement.
