Tradebird MCP gives external agents read-only access to public marketplace tools. Use it when an assistant needs to search the marketplace, inspect supplier profiles, open market pages, or compare suppliers without scraping the website.

Endpoint

Set the MCP endpoint once and reuse it in your client configuration:

MCP clients send JSON-RPC requests with POST ${TRADEBIRD_MCP_URL}.

Transport

• JSON-RPC 2.0 over POST.
• Supports initialize, ping, tools/list, and tools/call.
• Notifications are accepted.
• Protocol version: 2025-11-25.

Tool result shape

Tool calls return both:

• structuredContent: JSON for MCP-native clients.
• content: a JSON text fallback for clients that only display text.

Errors raised during tool execution are returned as tool results with isError: true.

Tool order for agents

Use search_marketplace first for open-ended buyer requests. Then call profile or page tools when the user needs deeper evidence.

Use compare_suppliers when the user asks for comparison, fit, risks, or shortlist help. It does not contact sellers.

Public/private boundary

Public MCP is read-only and anonymous. It can read public marketplace context only. It cannot access tenant data, private buyer notes, private chats, seller-private data, or authenticated workspace records.
